Bank of the Ozarks Buys another Georgia Bank

     R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties congratulates The Little Rock-based bank, Bank of the Ozarks for recently purchasing another Georgia bank, Oglethorpe Bank. Oglethorpe Bank was closed Friday (Jan.14) by the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance with Bank of the Ozarks assuming all of the deposits from the bank and agreed to purchase essentially all of the assets from the FDIC. The FDIC and Bank of the Ozarks entered into a loss-share transaction on 173.9 million of Oglethorpe Bank’s assets. Also, on December 17, 2010 Bank of the Ozarks purchased assets and assumed deposits of Chestate State Bank of Dawsonville, Georgia. This became the fourth Bank of the Ozarks acquired through an FDIC action in 2010. Bank of the Ozarks aslo acquired Horizon Bank in Florida, Unity National Bank of Georgia, and Woodlands Bank of South Carolina earlier in 2010. (CityWire2011)
