In a recent raking held by the website, Fort Smith came out first, or least expensive, among U.S. cities with metropolitan populations of 75,000 or more. The report is based on the ACCRA cost of living index and on medium household income and average home prices from Toronto-based Martin Prosperity Institute. According to the report, Fort Smith's latest cost-of-living index is 85.2.

The new location will be at 2254 Fayetteville Rd. next to Verizon Wireless. This will be the second location for Papa Murphy's in the area. They already have a location on Zero St. in Fort Smith.

They are now located at 2254 Fayetteville Rd. in an out parcel of the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Their new location features 5,525 square feet of space. Their hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. R.H. Ghan has recently learned that Citi Trends Inc. is planning to open a 425,000 square foot apparel distribution center in Roland, OK. Citi Trends is a value-priced retailer of urban fashion apparel and accesories. The company's president and CEO, David Alexander, said the company will hire between 200 and 250 new employees over the next two years. The company looked at a number of sites in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas before choosing the existing facility in Roland.
R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties recently heard the announcement that professional golfer John Daly has accepted a sponsor exemption to compete in the Ft. Smith Classic. This year the Ft. Smith Classic is scheduled for June 14-20 at Hardscrabble Country Club. Organizers of the tournament are hoping Daly's larger-than-life persona and fan popularity will mean a boost in ticket sales and attendance for the event. With proceeds from ticket sales going to area charities, the money Daly will help to bring in will help the city, the charities and the tournament itself.
