R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties in Fort Smith Arkansas has learned that Rockline Industries, the largest producer of coffee filters and private label baby wipes in North America, announced it had purchased the 1.2 million-square-foot Today’s Plastics’ building in Booneville.  The company will invest $5 million and create more than 200 jobs over the next five years as it opens a wet wipes manufacturing and distribution facility.  The Booneville wet wipes plant will be the second in the state, as Rockline already operates a Springdale facility with about 500 employees.

R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties is pleased to announce two new hotels are comming to the Fort Smith Arkansas market. Candlewood Suites and Homewood Suites are slated to open by fall 2008 at the intersection of Phoenix Avenue and South 74th Street. The extended stay hotels will try to take advantage of the business clientele market, while also serving other surrounding areas on the east side of Fort Smith. Homewood Suites by Hilton will have four stories with 88 rooms, a combination of studio and one and two bedroom suites.

For the first half of the year, building permit values are up in the area compared to the same time last year.  The City of Fort Smith Arkansas ussued 1,385 permits from January through June this year valued at $100.77 million, up 60 percent from the $63.19 million last year on 1,339 permits.  For June, total permits increased 43 percent to 14.47 million on 236 permits.  R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties has learned that Dallas based Tiger Truck Company will open a facility to assemble off-road cargo vehicles in Poteau Oklahoma.  Employment levels could reach 300 within five years.  The plant will also have about a $3 million payroll and pay salaries averaging $30,000 per year.  The facility is planned to open in October 2007.  R.H. On June 7, 2007 R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties learned that The Fort Smith Regional Airport commemorated a new nonstop flight on Delta Airlines to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  This new flight will have daily round trip flights from the Fort Smith Regional Airport.  The Atlanta service conntects Fort Smith to the largest passenger airport in the world.  Welcome Aboard Delta Airlines From R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties has learned that on January 4, 2007 The U.S. Marshals Service selected Fort Smith Arkansas as the new home for the U.S. Marshals Museum.  After a two-year study by The U.S. Marshals Service, Fort Smith Arkansas was selected to be the host city for the agency's new museum.  With 10,000 square feet of historical artifacts, the planned U.S.

R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties has learned that Fort Smith Shipyard LLC has secured 10 acres of commercial real estate along the Arkansas River in Fort Smith Arkansas where they plan to manufacture barges and tugboats. 

Dirt work will begin on constructing at least two 40,000 square foot buildings within the next week.  R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties has learned that Fort Smith Shipyard LLC will initially hire between 30 and 50 workers, with the possibility of having 200 workers in the future.

Safety Kleen: Fort Smith Operation Shuts Doors

Safety Kleen, Inc. closed the sale of their Fort Smith, AR facility on February 5, 2007 to Commercial Door and Hardware of Fort Smith, AR.  The sale was brokered by Eric Myers of R.H. Ghan Commercial Properties. 

6101 Prairie Drive is slated to be the new home for Anixter’s Fort Smith, AR operation. 

This last summer RH Ghan Commercial Properties was able to broker the deal for their new build to suit location.  The new location will boast twenty five foot wall heights which will provide the Tenant with maximum storage capacity.  Anixter’s move is slated for sometime in late February 07.
